I tried to download the firmware for my D-Link DSL-502T,from the link above, to be upgraded from current firmware ( V1.00B06.AU) to the latest version (v2.00B12.AU) which supports ADSL2/2+, but the upgrading failed for both options : Web and exe file.
For the option A ".exe file", I received this error message : "TFTP timeout",,,,,for the option B "via web" I received this error message: "Upgrade Failed"
Although I have followed all the instructions like assigning static ip, restore to factory default, etc.
This product is a cheap nasty product. I agree with the above post. I downloaded the firmware for my dsl-502T. Failed as above. then spent 4 hours on 3 calls to DLink to fix the problem. Once the firmware has been installed it cannot be installed. My recommendation is DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT OR DOWNLOAD THE FIRMWARE. I am very disappointed with the service, the technical advice and the poor performance of this modem. I have constant dropouts every 15-20 minutes. Please do not buy this product.
Don't buy. Was good when it came out 4 years ago... But hey so was ps2.. simply time for a upgrade. I still have, and down the road are alot of frustrating issues. Like the one above for instance and alot more, Dont ask I know. Save yourself the time and spend that extra $20-50, Its worth it.. Im going to now have to convince to mum to buy another one.. Not easy for a women who believes in "don't play around with it and it will last a life time" type of lady. Trust me. my mum is a triple mill lady but she uses resources till theres nothing in it left!
