I tried uninstalling Ask.com Toolbar off of my computer, using the clean disk program.
The window froze up. I rebooted my computer, the format was windows classic and my browser had been corrupted some kind of way.
Is there anything I can do without going through a whole lot of "rigamaror"?

If you have the original OS disk, load it and go through the steps, select "repair existing installation".
this will not wipe your files, but it will restore the OS...OR
You can turn the clock back on your hard drive using "system restore" this will return the system to the state it was before the problems occurred, but you may loose some files that you created after the date of the "restore point".
What is your IE Browser, IE 7 or IE 8? Open up Browser, go to Tools and open - you will see options for add-ons, either enable or disable some of those - review toolbar options - and see what happens? Good Luck!
