Hello,
I have a new iMac, and an oldish pc. I have been able to get them to file, print and internet share. I would like to be able to control the other when on a different system. What programs would i need to do this?
Thanks,
conmoy
That one, I'm not completely sure, if you have OS X 10.5(Leopard), I guess you could always install bootcamp, and then put windows XP on as a dual boot with OS X, and use remote desktop from within windows.
If the two computers are not right next to each other, check out this link: http://www.freemacblog.com/mac-server-series-setting-up-vnc-on-your-mac/
I have my MacBook sitting on my desk right next to my PC's monitor, so I use this program: http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/ . I have my PC setup as the server and I run the client through Terminal on my MacBook. This way, I can move my mouse across my PC's screen and onto my MacBook and use the mouse and keyboard on it... it's like having two monitors, but I'm controlling two computers.
