Retrieving a saved document.

Hello, when I opened Microsoft office this morning to finish my resume. The box came up asking me if I wanted to replace and save. Not thinking I hit replace. Now my document is gone because I replaced it with a blank page. I have performed all the searches such as wbk, tmp, autorecovery, ect. with no luck. Any more suggestions?

Hi. If your version of windows is ultimate or professional and you have shadow copy enabled, you should be able to restore to a previous version. If it is the home premium or basic version then I think you will have lost it for ever.

If you are using a high enough version of Windows, and shadow copies are enabled, you can restore the file by right clicking the parent folder that your document was located in and going to Properties. Click the Previous Versions tab and once the scan of the folder is complete, your document should be listed.
