I am buying a 8800GTS/320MB video card, and am deciding between two LCD monitors for my gaming PC;

Samsung SyncMaster 204B 20.1-inch
Max Resolution: 1600 x 1200 / 60 Hz
Image Contrast Ratio: 800:1
Response Time: 5 ms

....and.....

ViewSonic Xtreme VX922 19-inch
Max Resolution: 1280 x 1024
Image Contrast Ratio: 650:1
Response Time: 2 ms

Will the 1600x1200 resolution too much for my 8800GTS? Or should I stick with the 1280x1024 resolution with all the eye-candy turned on?

Recommendations on the LCDs?

Thx!

I would go for the 16x10. I only say this as i have one :lol:
The 8800 with 320mb,s can handle it, but anything higher
then it will start to suffer.

While I agree with Sirheck that the GTS-320 currently does well at 16x12, if I were buying a new monitor I'd be looking at a widescreen instead of 4:3 and that would also give me the benefit of 1680x1050, which would be a little less strain and still look good (better IMO I prefer widescreen when possible for LCDs). I'd say instead of the 204B get the 204BW or the 216BW better still.

The biggest problem will be future games where we don't know the performance on games like Crysis.

IMO the WS is the way to go, better FOV and slightly less pixel load without compromising image quality.
