I have a Dell XPS 600. I just got a new Optiarc AD-7240S DVD RW drive from newegg. I also got a Rosewill SATA II 3G 2 Port Raid PCIE adapter for it to work. My question is when I try to burn DVD it won't recognize it as a DVD Ram drive. It plays CD's fine but when I put a DVD in it says disc is full and says it's not a DVD burner. Any suggestions

What software are you using to burn? You might have to update it.

That was the problem. Once I downloaded some burning software I was able to burn DVD's through that. Thanks
