Hey guys, I have just built a new system consisting of:

core 2 duo e6600
Corsair 2x1GB DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 XMS2 Memory
Hitatchi Deskstar T7k500 320GB SATAII
asus P5N-E SLI 650i motherboard
geforce 8800gts 320mb
antec true power trio 550W

I have an issue which I really cannot get to the bottom of. I tried to benchmark using aquamark and 32mark- however the system freezes completely midway through these. When I tried to install a couple of games it froze in the same way midway through installation. I have tried taking a memory stick out and redoing windows, so I thought it could perhaps be a power issue?

Any help is gratefully appreciated!

How are your processor and video card temps? This could be a heat problem.
Try re-seating your heat sink and make sure your video card fan is running. If temps are ok then swap out your power supply with a known good unit.

Yeah that was my initial thought, but everything seems to be fairly cool-last time I looked the cpu was running at 30 degrees I think.
