The Print Screen key does not require activation. A program like Windows Paint is required to use Print Screen.

When you use the print screen key, you take a screenshot and you have that on your clipboard, you can open something like a word document and then paste it.

Or use paint if you need to edit it.

I was thinking OP was pressing the Print Screen key expecting something to happen automatically.

Hold ctrl and press print screen. Then open wordpad or word, and press shift + insert.

I tried this and it did not work. I used word. Any suggestions?

Press Print screen. Open Word or Windows Paint. Right click or insert. The image should appear.
