Ok... My problem started with a new DVD Burner not being recognized by XP (more on that in another post)... While trying to solve the problem, I followed directions on Microsoft's website, and they involved running a regedit, going to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}" and deleting Upperfilters.

I restarted after that and now I can't type in my password. The keyboard works fine in Ubuntu, and when selecting which OS to use for boot, so the problems seems to be exclusively with XP. I can also log in to a non-pass protected account, but the keyboard will not work there either
