Hey guys i bought this pos BEFSR41W- RN the other day not knowing its for ricochet is there a way to erase what firmware is on this thing and put BEFSR41W firware back on it. if not is it possiable to turn this into a switch to switch two pcs to get online or is that not possiable thanks guys pulling my hair out

If an earlier version of the firmware is available on the mfg website, might be able to flash the earlier/different version. Did you flash the wrong BIOS? Could try resetting the router to the original settings, should be a button on the back but you'll need the original log in and password. This won't likely change the firmware. A lot of routers won't let you flash the wrong firmware so resetting the router help. At least worth a try

tried this this thing has the WAN port disabled for that ricochet wireless ive downloaded other firmware for the BEFSR41W and it says its the wrong model is there anyway i can erase wahts on the router now and start over like short something out or something like that thanks a bunch for yhe reply and one more question why would the telnet be disabled also wont let me telnet into router either thanks again

It looks like you have installed the correct firmware. There should be some router setting that will allow you to disable ricochet, which should allow activate the WAN port. Check the manual help in the router settings. I can't imagine Linksys would lock you into ricochet given people change ISPs all the time and that's looks like it's specifically for satellite and uses an USB connection rather than WAM
