First off, I did try and search for some answers to my question but couldnt find one...secondly, I dont even know if Im in the right forum for this question. I searched and searched for Internet Explorer questions to no avail. So Im sorry.
Well here goes:
I am currently using Windows XP SP3, IE7, and have had my puter since 2002 and have rarely touched anything under the advanced tab in Internet Options..but a couple times while looking in there I might have checked or unchecked somethings accidentally...this can happen really easily I found.
So im wondering if maybe i screwed things up. Lately I find that its taking my web pages a long time to load, where before it didnt.

Also, a few times my internet connection got disconnected and when diagnosed through the IE it said something like "You can connect through HTTP and HTTPS but something regarding FTP I cant connect. And something about a firewall settings. My windows firewall is turned off as well as my Norton Smart Firewall is off. So I dont think Im having a firewall issue. So that brings me to internet opts.

Also, I canceled my Internet service with AT&T, which was DSL modem and since Nov18th 2009 have now got internet service with Cox, which is through my cable company. Now on to my question(s).
Which items should be "checked" and "unchecked" under the Advance Tab?
I will tell you what I have checked and unchecked currently.

Yes=checked....No=unchecked...very easy...lol...

AS CHECKING AND UNCHECKING THE WRONG THINGS WILL REALLY MESS UP MY SYSTEM. SO THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ALL YOUR HELP. :eek:)

If you think you've messed with the settings, just use the reset button to go back to your default settings.

Your change in internet providers could be your issue. What speed is your connection running?

If your firewalls are disabled, you may have an infection. Boot into safe mode with networking (f8 on startup). Download, install, and update malwarebytes. Do a full system scan.

They download ccleaner to clean up temp files and clean your registry.
