Issues with IE 8

Hello,
I am having issues with IE 8 whenever trying to bring up a page, its very slow and always shows 'not responding' at the top. Any ideas why......

you still with IE8??? Go for Google Chrome, its the best.

I tried the suggestion that was given, and still had issues (locking up), so I decided to install Firefox, and haven't any issues.
