Laptop shuts down abruptly

Hello,
i have compaq presario V3000 laptop....when system is on run it flickers,like screen flashes....and sometimes it shuts down abruptly...i got its fan cleaned as well....m not sure wat is the issue....plz help...

It sounds like it is getting a bit too hot, i.e. overheating, which in turn forces it to shut down from any damage occurring. Download a free program called SpeedFan and see what kind of temperatures the laptop is putting out and report back to us.
