Hey all, my first post on these forums, I always search around Tomhardware when I have tech problems.

Cannot find a answer that is specific to my problem though.

Here is my dilemma.

In my room, which is on the third floor I have a wired router which my xbox360 and PC are connected to.

But now my mum wants to use a wireless laptop on the ground floor, is it possible to get a wireless router and simply plug it into the phone line on the first floor?

Simply put:
Can I have 2 routers in one house, one wired, one wireless both just plugged into different phone sockets.

You can only have one ADSL router connected to the phone line.

Why not replce your router with the wireless one -- hopefully the signal will reach your mum.

My motherboard (P5K Premium) came with a wireless antenna, so i'm just going to set that up as an Access point and hope that works.

Setup the wireless router downstairs for your moms, and get a switch for your room. problem solved.
