We have a small office with about 12 stations that need internet content blocking and restrictions due to it's users. It's a phone answering service and all we need the operators to have access to is 3 particular web sites. EVERYTHING else (except 1-2 manager computers) needs to be restricted. In the past, we've done this through software. Problem with that is we have to do this on EVERY SINGLE workstation and deal with updates, renewals, etc. In addition, some employees are computer savvy and have figured out ways to disable the running service that controls such content blocking and they screw everything up in the process.

What relatively inexpensive (up to $1500) hardware appliances are out there would fit this bill and would be relatively simple to install and configure? We currently have a T1 line connected to a hardware firewall router.

Thank you in advance for you suggestions.

If you're moderately competent with computers you can probably stick Linux on a $500 PC and set it up as a firewall or web proxy for their part of the network to ensure they can't get to any sites other than those you need them to access.
