IE opens several IE windows after visiting Facebook

Greetings,

IE opens several (42) identical windows of itself after visiting Facebook. They're easy to shut down in task manager, but I'd like to know how to prevent this if anyone knows how to do that. The PC is scanned for viruses and malware on a daily basis by AVG with no infections being found. Thanks very much for your help!

AVG isn't known for high malware detection. And if something slipped by it, it's likely suppressing your scanner anyway.

Boot into safe mode with networking. Download, install, and update malwarebytes. Do a full system scan.

Download run combofix.
www.combofix.org/

That should solve the problem.
