My cpu is keeping me from getting on the internet

my internet isnt working upstairs and i was wondering why im on the one downstairs using wireless connect. it shows full connection with comcast and my IP address starts with a 169 but my cpu dont want to release it so i can use a new one and where it says local area connection on the two cpu icons on the lower right corner of ur cpu it keeps poppin up the caution simble between the two cpu icons and im wondering what is causing that to happen.. need help.. thank u

Try resetting your modem and router. Use a pen to push in the reset buttons for ~ 5 seconds. The network connection won't directly have anything to do with the CPU.

I think you mean PC instead of CPU.

There are lots of options to 'set' or 'check' in the BIOS.

Though, I'm not sure how that would have to do with an internet connection.

well when i went on safe mode and networking somthing popped up and said somthing bout corrupt but the comcast guy was no help when i had him over... and i went on the safe mode again and now its not popping up anymore for me to find out wut it was it like jus disappeared.
