in theory the stock cool should work as long as you dont overclock

that being said anything better than stock should be fine as well

I personally will be getting the chip very soon, but after seeing information and bench marks, regardless of over clocking (i might do it.) i will be getting a good cooler, but they always have a price. Whether over clocking your system or not, i would recommend the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme CPU Cooler paired with the SilenX IXP-76-18 120mm Fan. :D Keeps your temps low, stock, or over clocking  hope this helps you out, it may not be cheap (i paid 98 dollars from Newegg.com for both) but it will definitely be the best air after market solution for you!

edit: sorry for posting at all, i forgot you will not be overclocking and your not on a budget :( but hopefully this helps someone :)

To the OP:
You might want to look in the Cooling section in the overclocking section. There's a Big topic in that part of the forum talking about whats the best cooler for Q6600.

Not that the AF7Pro is a bed cooler; it's a great price performance, but a $500+ quad core, really deserves a better and $20-30 pricier cooler to keep chilled and to improve it's future OC-ing capabilities.
