an AMD 3000+ what? Sempron? Athlon XP? Athlon 64?

the answer is yes either way

AMD's offering are a bit better at stock speeds in that price range, a 5600+ will consistently beat a e6420 and is $10 cheaper, but if you're planning to overclock or upgrade in the next year or two then Intel is the better choice.

Had an AMD X2 3800 and shelled out the $$ for an E6420, MB, and memory. Talk about night and day difference. HAve managed to OC to 3.4 with CPU on air, water on GPU and 6 fans in a highly modified Praetorian case. All the fans are running below the level of being noticed with the box at my feet. You have a decision to make though, wait 24 days and see if the price cuts take effect, or buy it now and enjoy. Your call.

Well i think its a dumb move. I suggest you return that E6600 and wait for Q6600 after July 22nd. You can get 2 E6600 for the same price. So why not? ALl you gota wait is 24 more days.

LOL, THe largest democracy in the world is China. LOL>.. or is it burocracy? Too bad Intel doesn'twant *Indian* not native americans, to manufacture CPUs, or you could've leaked some out for very little money. WHy does intel like Chinese and malaysian so much? Almost all the processor are either manufacture in malayshia or china.

8O Okay first of all the China is not a Democracy

Secondly people are forced into labour where people work for less than a dollar a day to manafacture stuff.

Therefore labour is cheaper .

Also The Republic of India, commonly known as India (locally as Bhārat; see also other official names), is a sovereign country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by geographical area, the second most populous country, and the most populous liberal democracy in the world. check it out :D

woah, china claims to be a communist country but is really more authoritarian (much like the soviet union was because communism can only exist in principle and can never be put into a reality). I guess the red flag and yellow stars on that flag didn't tip you off.

and the second question: dirt cheap labor

I think its cheaper to make CPU in BC canada because the electricity is so cheap. Also, since making CPU requires minimum labour, labour $ isn't a problem. Machines requires electricity right, and electricity are cheap in Canada, so it will ramp down the cost of the CPU if they make it in Cananda.

Minimum price for electricity in China: 50c-75c/kWatt hours
Minimum price for electricity in BC, Cananda: 07cents/kWatt hours

If your idustry is huge and beneficial to Canada, they can build a Hydroelectricity powerplant for you just like they built one for Aluminum Industry in the North BC.

I dont' think there's a lot of manual labor in making a CPU. You can't expect someone to the solder the CPU dice to the PCBs. Everything is automated and requires electricity and almost no labor. The only thing people can do is to package the CPU into boxes which machines can do it very fast for 24/7. One machine can take over 100 people's job.
