PSU Problem!!!!

Hi,

to cut a long story short, my dad switched my comp off at the mains electric without shutting it down first. Now when i turn it on it freezes at the bios screen where it says f2 for setup f8 for boot devices etc. From this point i cannot take any action other than switch it off.

Im thinking it is either the psu or motherboard has had it. Could anyone possibly suggest what they think it is more likely to be

If it's a USB keyboardm try a PS/2 one. If that lets you get into BIOS, enable support for USB keyboard. If no luck, try resetting/clearing CMOS, usually jumper near battery. If still no luck, disconnect/remove all drive cables, adapter cards from motherboard, just leave video card and monitor. It will help if you post full system spec.
