Alright, so my computer is a Compaq Presario SR2038X which I got for Christmas. Ever since I've discovered how demanding today's games are, i've been fixed on upgrading my video card. I just ordered a Sapphire x1950 Pro 512MB PCI-Express card from newegg. here's the link

I've talked with customer support and found out I have a microATX form factor psu installed with 300 watts. I just ordered this supply:

However, I'm still a little doubtful about whether or not this will be able to power this graphics card. I'm not into speding lots of money here, I just want a psu that can power this card without problems. Please help!

Here are my specs:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
250 GB hard drive
DVD and CD reader/burner
3 GB DDR2 RAM
Running XP Media Center Edition 2005

The 12V at 25A should be sufficient, although I do NOT know the specific GPU's power requirements.

Note: Skimping on a PSU usually leads to problems down the road. Personal experience: Random BSODs and system crashes - found out the 3.3V line dropped to 2.8V...

I'm still unsure of whether it will work, but seeing as it got those kind of reviews on newegg, it seems promising. I'm on a budget, and i already spent like $150 for the card and only had up to $200.

Well, I will say that the reviews offset my skepticism of the product, considering other PSU's in that price range don't have as many reviews. If you already ordered it, then ya, I say it should work. Post back with your results when you get everything installed. Good Luck.
