Hello,

I recently purchased a HP m9300T, which has a Ethernet LAN port on its system board. Would I be able to connect to the internet with the Ethernet LAN?

Currently I have my cable modem/router downstairs hooked up to my old desktop, I have a laptop that connects to the internet, but now not sure if my new desktop upstairs will be able to connect. I can't move the cable modem/router that is downstairs to my room upstairs because there is no cable connection. What would I have to do to get online?

Thanks

Yes you can connect the Ethernet LAN port to an Ethernet socket on the router.

As I suspect a new laptop will also already come with a wireless adapter as well you might consider getting a wireless router so that the laptop is more portable, rather than tethered by an Ethernet cable .
