I recently built my first pc and it works ok but...
I have a intel duo processor cpu.
The room temperature where the computer is located is 30.
The cpu temperature at idle is ~45. When working, I have seen it go as high as ~80.
Last night, I had the case open and had a fan (a human cooling fan) blowing directly into the case and the cpu temperature was still at 42 (at idle).
Are these temperates normal? If not, what can I do? If the room temperature was cooler, say ~21, could I expect the cpu temperate to drop by 9 degrees to around 36?
BYW: I have applied the thermal paste twice. Once with a generic brand, then again with artic silver. I saw little if any difference in the cpu temps. Of course I thoughly cleaned the old thermal paste off before applying the artic silver.
