Game Design Video Card

OK. Im currently signed up for a Game and Web Design Course in college in the fall and was wondering if it would be perfectly fine to use an 8700M GT. Im getting a laptop and dont know if I should get one with a quadro card or if it will be ok to use the geforce series. The guy said we will work with the source engine, unreal engine, 3d studio max, dreamweaver and such. I also kinda wanna be able tp play games on it also, but if the quadro cardwould be much better than let me know.

Quadro are more for 3D modeling and Apps such as CAD, Solidworks, and such for engines i dont know but i would assume a real GFX would work better.
