How do I view my pictures in Windows Explorer?

Last response: in Windows Vista

Windows Explorer lists my pictures with icons that all look the same. I want to be able to view all my pictures in Windows Explorer rather than Windows live picture gallery because it's faster to work with.

Select view from the menu bar and choose view as large icons.

That only enlarges the icons, I want to view the pictures instead of the icons.

You cannot view the pictures full size in Explorer, you need a picture viewer to do that. There are plenty of free viewers about if you do not like the one you are using

I don't need to view them full-size, I just want to view previews.

I found my answer in Windows Explorer by going to Organize > Folder and Search options > View tab > deselect Always show icons, never thumbnails.
