I want to get this===AMD® Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Processor TL-56===but I'm worried whether or not this amount of cache would be detrimental for system performance? Because I see other computers with 4MB of cache and I wonder...is this bad?

And data bus speed...is 1600MHz gonna make a huge difference over 800MHz?

More about : 512 cache worse 1mb cache

different architectures, the AMD turion wouldn't benefit from huge amounts of cache.

even with Intel's core2duo, the jump from 2mb to 4mb of cache does not make a huge difference

it'll be fine, I'm running a sempron 3000+ with only 128kb of cache and it still gives solid performance

My rig isn't the best

sempron 3000+ socket 754 @ 1.8 ghz
1 gb ddr333
Radeon X1600pro

I play BF2 on medium/high settings, doom 3 at high, quake 4 at medium

I think your processor will do just fine
