Our AVG free software used to run when we would shut down. (We would click the computer shut-down button, and then the scan would start and computer would shut down when scan was finished.) We loved that. We recently had our computer in for problem with disk drive. Not sure if that is related, or if AVG updated their program, but now it starts scan when we fire computer up. I would like it like before, as opposed to a 3 min. to 60 min., etc., delay. Start up computer, use it, then when done, shut down, and the scan starts and automatically shuts down when finished, ready for next use.
We are not computer literate, so please be kind if this is an "obvious" fix. Thanks

Unless AVG has updated their software since this article was written, you need to write a shutdown script to make it work.
