Intel vs amd processors

Hello,
looking this week at laptops/notebooks and can see no market difference between AMD 8 and Intel i5. Is there a performance difference that really matters to the average small buisness or home office user?

More about intel processors
  1. i am not sure where the amd8 falls but in general intel has been leading the pack in performance.

not sure why toms doesnt have a better updated chart. perhaps find another cpu chart on another review site and compare numbers.
  2. ssddx is right about that for desktop processors, but for ultra low power processors in netbooks, AMD are far better. Of course laptops are inbetween the two, still low power but more comparable to the desktop products, so I'd guess Intel would be better there.
