I have trouble using a "previous PC left-over" drive, a WDC WD2500 using parallel ATA. This is handled by a controller from JMicron, and it finds it, and in the Device Manager in Vista it shows up with the right name, but as a SCSI drive. It doesn't show up in the list of disks in Disk Manager, and "DOS" DISKPART shows it as disk #1 with the right size but "invalid" (or whatever Swedish "ogiltig" is in English).
I was told by technical support at the provider of the PC that this controller emulates a SCSI controller, but anyway, how do I make Vista use this drive, as it seems to be detected on a lower level?
I have installed the JMicron driver, but I was confused as to whether I should use the SCSI or EIDE driver (as I get that question in the beginning of the installation). I've tried both though and no difference.
