Should i use the digital audio plug to connect my dvd rom to my sound card? I havent had any problems with sound coming from it. Will it improve quality of my dvd movies?

What are you using right now? If your not using a cable then the sound is going through the IDE/SATA cable digitally to the sound card. Probably wont make any difference as fast as cpus are today. 10 years ago, yes. Now adays no.
