I have noticed a problem when watching prime time network broadcasts.
when a network show segment ends (commercial break, and the local
broadcast station does their promos or commercials, a lip synch problem
develops on the audio as well as intermittent short audio cut offs. I
have cox cable in Fairfax,VA.
Has anyone else experienced this with the Sony 60XS955, or does my tv
set have a problem?
Thanks for your help!

I don't see how the problem could be in your TV set. It would have to have
some capability of storing audio or video and then replaying it a short time
later, wouldn't it? I don't think it can do that. In any case, I have the
same TV set you do and mine does not do that.
I have seen / heard video / audio out of sync in HDTV broadcasts, however.
The worse culprit I have seen is The Tonight Show. On several occasions,
Leno's monologue has been so out of sync that I either watched it on the SD
channel or just switched off the TV. I believe this problem originates at
the network, the local station or the cable company. My best guess is the
local station but, so far, my emailed questions to them about it have gone
unanswered, which makes me even more suspicious of them.
If you see the same problem across several different channels, then I think
your first suspect should be the cable company. Have you called them and
asked about it?
