Vista wont install Tags: Windows Vista Format Last response: July 21, 2010 8:24 PM in Windows Vista Share takeuout July 21, 2010 7:46:05 PM ok so i have a laptop (windows vista) with no operating system when i try to format the drive to reinstall vista it says "failed to format the selected partition" error 0x80070057. do i have to resort to dos? or is there something i can do with the install disk i haven't tried yet? also i tried using the repair option doesn't do anything ether.
