I just returned a Asus P5K3 Deluxe board because the memory (ddr3) was too expensive right now and it did not run as good as DDR2 so it was not worth it.

Now my question is what other board out there will supprt DDR2 AND DDR3 that has 2 PCI-E X16 slots and dual nic's on it?? Is there one that exists? I found a gigabyte board GIGABYTE GA-P35C-DS3R LGA 775 Intel P35 that has what i am looking for but only has 1 PCI-E X16 slot and 1 nic. It has to be a P35 mobo with support for both memory modules for future upgrading to be done. Basically is there a upscale version of this gigabyte board?

And it HAS TO HAVE 8 SATA ports along with 1 PATA port.

There will be an MSI X38 (Diamond or Platinum, can't remember now) which will support both DDR2 and DDR3 (but not at the same time) and have 4 (four) PCI-E 16x slots. You'll have to wait another two months for it though. It was demonstrated at the Computex.

Hmmm... Sounds awesome but I cant wait another 2 months for it lol. I would have waited another 2 months for the ram to come down more if that was the case. I guess my best bet is the DSR3 right now but it only comes with 1 PCI-E x16 and 3 PCI-E x1. I can live with-ought the dual Gig nic's since I can always add one.

Yeah, I keep hearing good things about the DSR3.

The X38 will have the slots but it might not support SLI anyway. It's a matter of licensing. nVidia is happy to have the only SLI-capable chipset so I don't think they'll rush to license it to Intel for use in X38. I may be wrong, it depends on how much Intel offers to pay.

What you really need is the successor to 680i (780i ???) but that might take 6 months to appear. Too much FUD to be worth waiting...

There is an Asus P35-based mobo with dual support (DDR2 and DDR3). Forgot the name, sorry, I think there was a "c" somewhere in it. I'd go with Gigabyte anyway, better quality and better customer support.

Ya the ASUS board is not out yet. I remember seeing it somewhere but when I went to look for it through google no one had it. I like ASUS but I have heard great things about the Gigabytes so I am willing to try it.
