I set the screensaver to automatically kick on after 5 minutes. It works
perfectly fine until I turn off the computer and restart it. The
screensaver setting does not "stick". It has to be reset every time the
computer is started up. What could cause this behavior?

Thanks

After you changed your settings to 5 minutes, did you click OK? If Yes,
that is WRONG! You must click Apply before clicking OK to
set and SAVE the settings.

I can hardly believe that I have stumped all you experts with my question.
Please give some thought to my problem and let me know what I can do to fix
it.

Thanks

I am also having the same problem. Set SS time to be 15mins. Then it
resets back to 1 min. Even occurs without turning off computer. Yes I
do apply before going OK
