Q6600 OC to 3 GHZ = QX6800 ??

If I buy a Q6600 and OC it to say... 3GHZ dose it mean its more powerful than the QX6800 ??? and save Heep's of money..?

definately yes, and especially because you will increase your fsb giving more bandwidth for the 4 cores to work with

So why would anyone BUY the Q6800 for an extra 500 bucks..? Because you can OC it to 3.7 GHZ and it would be then = to a Q7200 ?? :eek:

If you got phase cooling unlocked multipliers allow for huge overclocking, thats the best reason to get a high end chip, burning money otherwise.

Q6800 doesn't exist. Even if does, the multiplier will be locked. Only QX6800 exist. Since its extreme, people will pay extreme price for it. Most of the people buying it are either stupid and rich or who starve for performance.

the 2 q6600 systems i build this week are burning in at 3.72 and 3.85ghz at 48-52c - they are in bios burn it

i burn in the mobo for 3 days build it and burn the system in for 3 or 4 days


the chip is so good its beyond this ifb expectations
