well it depends on the board you are using and what you have been using for a video card in the past. when i got my new 8800GTS 640MB i had to change the sli card between my pci-e slots from dual cards to single cards since i wasn't running my 7900's anymore.
if you have the PSU to support it, there is nothing you need to do, drop it in, plug it in and play!
you gotta be careful since you were running an ATI card and are switching to Nvidia. they sometimes don't like to play nice nice with each other so you will have to completely remove your Catalyst drivers and everything associated therewith and then you can drop your uber card in and install the nvidia stuff...should be smooth like butta
so annoyed right now, they told me to allow 3-5 days for delivery. arrrrrrrrrrrrr, cant stand this.
i rebooted my whole computer from scratch and will not install catalyst driver. this means i cant play games for the next 3-5 days thanks to their crappy delivery service. well i guess i have to wait.
hopefully that way, the nvidia drivers will not interfer with anything. right so im all set yes?
Are all your ATI drivers and CCC removed? If so, then youre good to go. One way to check is to download driver cleaner, go into safe mode, and remove everything ATI. You really neednt do this until you have your card tho. When you do remove your ATI drivers, and reboot, windows will say found new hardware. Cancel that before it installs. Then install your nVidia drivers. If you remove your ATI drivers now, youll be stuck using the windows drivers, which are basic, and slow your system to a crawl. Good luck, and have fun when you get
i done a whole computer reboot and yes its so slow. tempted to install CCC till the card comes. i probably will then use this disk cleaner (never used before, i assume i google it and install it). then go safemode and uninstall everything ati. okely dokily, thank you.
