This motherboard has a native memory standard of 1333 (DDR3), does this mean if I am planning on using DDR2 memory on this board I should choose a new board?

Thanks
Uh, Yeah Just kidding. If the mobo says DDR3 then you have to use DDR3. Gigabyte has other boards that use DDR2 and one that has DDR2 and DDR3 slots. I'll get you some specifics.
Here is a link to a comparison of six Gigabyte boards (2 pages) and 1 link to a board that didn't fit (limit 6). These are all DDR2 except the GA-P35C-DS3R which has DDR2 and DDR3 slots. Scroll down to see the comparison.
