I know my PC supports dual channeling, but I'm not too sure about SLI or how it works for memory, if they're the same thing. lets say if the mobo doesn't support SLI, then I shouldn't bother buying SLI modules, should I?

"Dual channel" mode is a mode the memory controller (part of your MB/chipset) can use to essentially double your RAM throughput. It is a function of your MB, not the memory modules.
"SLI" has now become essentially a brand name, as it means different things for different components. For graphics, it refers to a special system for running two graphics cards in parallel to boost performance. For memory, it's just another name for EPP.

instead of bying modules that support or are EPP ready, can't that be done to regular modules in BIOS? I heard you can twick a module in BIOS to do the same an EPP does.is that correct?

Yes, since EPP/SLI is just a way to automatically set memory speed/timings/voltage. The link in my post above explains more.
