Still not 100% sure on this so I am asking for help/advise....
ULTRA Ultra Black Aluminus ATX $68
Cooler Master RP-600-PCAR eXtreme Power 600W SLI Power Supply $69
Asus P5K DELUXE/WIFI-AP $232
ASUS GeForce 8800GTS $306
Apida DDR2 6400 800MHZ 2GB $92 with heat spreaders
Ultra Products ULT-33186 ChillTec Thermo Electric CPU Cooler $135
Seagate 500GB SATA 300 7200RPM 16MB Hard Drive $107.50
Sony AWG170S-B2 Sony AW-G170S 18x Black Dual Layer DVD-RW SATA $40
CPU will be a E6750 when they come out....
Still really not sure about the MB as I was wanting to SLI but freaken p35 chipsets don't have the 16 paths on the 2nd slot
Willing to spend more/less money Just trying to build a decent gamming computer that will last me more then a year.
The E6600 can be run on that P35 MoBo STOCK as 4x333, and therefore the FREE equivilent to the E6750 :!:
With the $$$ saved, Get the Corsair 520W SLi PSU, and NEVER worry about toasting the MoBo.
Toss the thermo-electric cooler, you WILL NOT need it, and toss the ULTRA case. The NZXT ZERO case covers both items with cash to spare.
Spend $20-40 on a NAME BRAND PC6400 memory, like Kingston, Corsair, Mushkin, or G.Skill... 2x1Gb at 1.8-1.9V rated ONLY.
Toss the SONY 18x burner and go with the Lite-On 20x.
Supposedly the x38 cards will support 2x 8X SLi but you pay beau-coup for them. You could use the Asus P5K WITHOUT built-in WiFi and save $80.
Since you are presumed to be buying the P35 board, you get free choice for the Graphx card... Right Now the HD 2900 cards have fewer problems with Vista, and are performing better than 4 weeks ago. IMHO choose this. Don't worry about 2 of these for at least 9 months, but get one now.
With all the money saved invest in an OPTI-UPS 1000Watt Uninterruptable Power Supply, to keep your parts safer from spikes, and droops in the power-line. About $120. Yes, you connect your Broadband through here before the modem! Protect all the wires going into the 'puter.
