OK, I hope many of you are not getting tired of hearing about use rookies and our first builds. I am really excited about mine and was wondering if I missed anything or if there are any suggestions.

So far, here is what I have planned on getting

Antec Nine Hundred

MSI P6N Diamond 680i (I plan to have a second VGA in there SLI and like the built in sound) - (should I wait for the x38 - will it release around the July 22 chip launch/price drop?)

EVGA 8800GTS 640MB

E6750 (once July 22 hits)

CORSAIR Dominator 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) (maybe I don't need 1066...only 800?)

2- Western Digital Caviar RE WD3200YS 320GB 7200 RPM (they come w/ TLER so I can put them in RAID 0)

Sony NEC Optiarc 18X DVD±R DVD Burner

SAMSUNG 226BW Black 22" 2 ms (GTG) DVI Widescreen LCD Monitor - Retail

I was thinking the the 750W pc power and cooling psu (I know I don't need that much wattage now, but if I get another 8800 and OC the CPU, I will need some power - or do I wait and replace the PSU when I get the other 8800 and OC?)

Any suggestions. Does everything look OK. I am planning on Newegg for most of it, but have found a few parts cheaper elsewhere.

Also, what is a good cooler for OC? Do I go w/ the Tuniq 120? Should I get it now and push the CPU right off? Do I need a VGA cooler if I OC that?

Anything else I missed?

Thanks for the help everyone. I love reading the comments on the forums.

The 610 watt PCP&C PSU would also be enough for SLI 8800GTS so you could save $50 there. With the ram the Dominator heatsinks can get in the way of some heat sinks. Also the 800mhz speed is enough for overclocking with that processor, just get some that are CAS4 or CAS3. Over all you have a great build.

Thanks for the feedback. It is helpful to have someone make sure I'm not a total moron here :)

I'm changing out the ram for these:

Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16820146565

They are on major sale...or are they not good enough? Something else (has to be Buffalo, Corsair, Kingston, Mushkin, or OCZ to work w/ the Mobo)

I will check that PSU too. Thanks again. Any more suggestions, please send them. Otherwise, I'm off and running.

That ram is some of the best out right now. It is based on the infamous Micron D9 chips that are known for great overclocking. Good choice.

Well, even better. The really cool thing is there is an awesome rebate on them (they are only $70 for the 2x1GB)

I'm off to buy a few parts :)
