Loss of Data

Hi all, a friend from a scottish island has been on phone, she has lost all data and programs she has put on her laptop and im unsure as to whats caused this or how to fix, she did say that when she tried to restart she was asked her name and the time and date, anyone any ideas

Tell her to install and run recuva. It may be able to recover some files.

It sounds like she may have accidentally booted into the restore partition. That would restore it back to factory settings.

Thanks for advice Aford, hopefully that can retrieve her lost docs, a lot of her business info is lost so quite important info included
