After checking a couple of sites I am thinking seriously of purchasing
the Optoma H31 Home Theater DLP Video Projector. It is to be an interim
solution to a new large screen HDTV which I will purchase in about two
or three years (looking for picture in picture built in tuner, not
projection, not plasma). I have the speakers and all else for a home
entertainment system- just not a big screen TV.

I will be using the projector mainly for DVDs and some football games,
but use my regular TV for everything else.

First- is there a better alternative to my plan?

Second, your thoughts on the Optoma against other projectors in the
$1K-1.5K range.

Third- is my conventional movie screen alright with the Optoma? There is
one site that offers a screen with the projector.

Thanks

GA

This set is native 480 vertical, not HD. If you understand that it is a
reasonably good value for an interim setup.
