I rebooted my computer recently and when i logged back on i no longer had network connectivity. I was not sending nor was I recieving packets and with some fiddling i am now sending them but recieving is still at 0.I sometimes get the error that says it cannot find TCP/IP and cannot repair the connection. I dont get that anymore after fiddling with it like i said because no i send packets all be it very slowly. I dont know what to do i am completely stumped  I would appreciate any help.
 
i am running microsoft windows home edition xp SP2

are you networked to the internet through a modem or to other computers

i am connected through a router which sends internet through my house that is recieved by the modem.
