Windows build 6002 sp2 problems with startup

Hello,
I have windows vista home basic (preinstalled) on an Acer aspire one laptop. ran great for almost a year.... after a windows automatic update in june it stopped working properly. will not complete startup it would seem... never getting networking, etc. windows sidebar would pick up weather updates if I started sidebar manually. but the system would say no networks available... in safe mode, internet works fine. I have found access to normal mode by using msconfig to stop all services. have been adding services back and rebooting... slow process... is there a better way?

Seems like it was a bad update or it didn't install correctly. Try taking the system back before that date (if possible) using system restore.
