Hmmm... 3 posts total and one of them is a link to rapidshare... That screams trouble.

No mention anywhere else on the interlag about it either. I'll give it a miss thanks.

just to save everyone else the trouble, i downloaded it, scanned the compressed rar, found nothing, extracted the exe, changed the extension to attempt to extract it, only had an error then, renamed the extension back to exe, executed it... all it did was disappear from my desktop, so i promptly disabled my network adapter, scanned my C drive, didnt find anything after a minute or so, so i just went and did a system restore to earlier this morning... ...the file apparently does nothing worthwhile, (and possibly only destructive) and isnt worth the hassle to download based on what i saw

I submitted the file to some anti-malware vendors, we'll see what they say.
Interesting that the OP posted the same link in three sub-forums.
Could be legit, could be a nasty.
I'll post back when I get a reply from the anti-malware people.

Got one result back:

A link to the INQ from October last, that links to another INQ article from September '05 that links to one more INQ article two weeks before?

Last I heard, the Vole is adamant about keeping DX10 Vista only (you know, sell new OS; make more money).

HatMan: DirectX 9.0L has nothing to do with XP. It's Vista-only as well (the "L" stands for "Longhorn" or "legacy", take your pick). The purpose of DirectX 9.0L is to allow people to play DX9 games in Vista, considering the move to the WDDM. Nothing more.
