I am planning on building a new pc soon, and I am waiting for Intel to drop their prices. Is this going to happen with Nvidia too,and if so,when?

Good question, unfortunately Nvidia isn't under any pressure to drop any prices of the 8800GTX, they'll milk this cow as long as they can.

It would be nice to at least see an 8800GTX drop below the $500.00 mark, but I don't think you'll see it for quite a while.

hahaha, flamebait

I'm actually watching pricing myself... I'm hoping for a GTS 320 to hit ~$200-250 without rebates. But like 4ryan6 posted, Nvidia has no reason to change prices.

We won't see the price drop until something comes out that can challenge it - and that won't be until the end of the year with the G90.

Then I need to rob a bank to get everything I want :(

NewEgg is selling the overclocked MSI 8800 GTX for $489.99 after $20 MIR.

get it, i'll hate you at them prices if you don't get it.

No not until there's another card out there that can compete against it. Right now a GTX is the fastest card there is so no major drop from it or the G80 line. Also sales of the DX10 are not that good really since few games only supports it and most of us are still in XP mode.

IMHO you would be a fool not to spend the extra $15 for the EVGA model.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814130072

You get a much better warranty and the EVGA step up program
