I've looked on the ASUS page, and the search function cannot find a "salmon" motherboard.

Here's what CPUZ gives me

Anybody know what this is?

Thanks.

Get your search data directly from the M/B itself and Google it, usually if you're lucky between the AGP and PCI or sometimes between the first and second PCI slots. Brand, Model #, and Revision #, are all important when looking for the last BIOS flash or whatever need you're after.

It's probably a 3rd party board made by Asus for someone like HP, or Dell. I know I used to have an HP and the board was a PTGD1LA aka the Puffer board but Asus doesn't have any information about it anywhere. Not even a manual...go figure.

That's awesome, I've got the same board in a compaq presario. What's also kind of funny to me is the processor that it came with, the good ole never-for-retail-sale AMD athlon 64 3300+ newcastle. I've got a pdf of the motherboard manual that I found on the internet, but I don't remember where I found it. Here's a link to the motherboard specs on the HP website.

I'm waiting as patiently as I can for RD790 and Phenom, b/c the lack of readily accessible info on all of the parts in this thing and the fact that OCing either through BIOS or Windows is absolutely not an option really kind of piss me off. I can't even upgrade to a faster processor, this is it!

That's just good business. How is HP going to make any money if they let you overclock your machine instead of buying a new one? Think of the starving system builders ...

The worst I've seen was a 6year old thread.

It was about this guy challenging others in C&C online. Perhaps someone thought OP was still waiting and so he replied.

That doesn't mean you should bring it back up. Let it die in peace, sheesh.
