Toshiba laptop shutdown after start up log in

Good day Guys! I have customer, the pc is toshiba and windows vista OS. the problem is it is going shutdown suddenly after log in.. the boot is ok up to the windows display the login menu.. then after log in its shutdown automatically.
pls help anyone knows this problem.. i dont want to reformat cause they said they have a very important documents inside that pc..

it shuts down all of a sudden (like all of a sudden everything goes out) or does it shutdown as normal?

if it suddenly shutdown, try booting it up and then let it sit there on the logon screen for a while and see what happens. Also does the fan run? does it happen in safe mode? does the bottom bit feel hot in any part?
