Do you think this will work?

I'm upgrading my kids home computer with new MB, memory, and video card. After installing the new parts do you think I could install the old HD and boot in safe-mode to install the new drivers. I know this is lazy but I just hate the idea of reinstalling all the other crapola they have on this computer.

Back up anything important first and give it a try. What have you got to lose? I managed to move an XP64 installation from one PC to another (one AMD based, the other Intel) without any great problems - but if it doesn't work you may be glad of that backup.

You'll probably have to do a Repair installation of Windows.
