Ive been ocing a bit and got my E6600 up to 3.4 Ghz, now im trying to reach the 3.6 ghz, but i need to increase the Vcore quitte a bit to make the system stable.

Current specs:
Fsb: 380 (3.4 Ghz)
Vcore: 1.425
Vmch: 1.55
Vfsb: 1.40
Vich: 1.05 (lowest from default value)
Temp: 39C under load (TAT) 36C (prime)
Vdimm: 2.1 (specified with the memory)

When i want it to run stable at 3.6 Ghz (400 fsb), I need to up the Vcore to 1.525 and my temps go up to 54C under load. (1volt for 200 mhz is a bit to much for the improvement)

Am I doing something wrong or is this the limit of my processor without major Vcore upping?
Has anyone got a similar rig? and what are your bios settings?

Pioneer 112d
Zalman 600W SLI power suply

what kind of HSF
(heat sink fan) do u have on the cpu?

Ive got a Thermaltake watercooling block on my CPU.
Thermaltake Kandalf LCS includes a all copper waterblock, 600 l/h waterpump, 360mm radiator and 3 12CM radiator fans.

Your results seem about right. With good air cooling I only hit about 3.5 stable at 1.47 v. on a very similar setup to yours. The e6600 OC results have dipped a bit since the early days it seems. 54c under load ain't much to worry over but still, I'd be a little afraid to go over 1.5 vcore on general principles.

Yes i know, but it took no effort at all to reach the 3.4 Ghz and it performs well and stable on 3.6 Ghz, but in my opinion it`s not an improvement, if the temps and Vcore have to go up so much for 200 Mhz extra.
Are the other settings ok? or are they to low in comparison with the Vcore?

Looks right to me. I have a very similar setup. I can run at 3.2 with 1.38v (stable) or 3.6 with 1.55v (not very stable).

For me I don't see the difference at 3.6 enough to warrant the extra volts and heat
